We had a great attendance by the club this year. (Apologies to Gary & Paul who attended last year and 1 forgot to mention them, hope that's not why they didn't turn up this year, Sorry!!)

We managed to get down on Friday and that enabled us to enjoy the weekend to the full.

The organisers had arranged a treasure hunt and we all got together as a club to try to solve the puzzles set. The clues certainly had us using our grey matter and 1 don't think the churchyard had seen so many visitors in ages.

It was tipped that there was an answer in this telephone box, everyone was fighting to get in.

The ride through the villages driving around the long and windy roads (there is a song there somewhere!!) was really smashing, hope the locals didn't mind the invasion.

We didn't win the treasure hunt, but only by about 1 point, and there is a little story going about that some one was looking over our shoulders at the answers!! Still it was only a game.

The car trials took place over the weekend but none of us got round to taking part. We were all enjoying the sunshine so much.

However true to Merlin tradition we did come away with a few prizes again.

Andy & I, Sue & Dave & Margaret & Clive won raffle prizes.

The prize for the car that had travelled the farthest Mr David
Daniels (hope you didn't adjust your speedo Dial!)

Hazel & Colin Smith came over from the Isle of Wight for the day, and guess what? He only picked up the award for the best car in show, however as he won it last year he asked that it be given to the runner up. True Merlin spirit that Colin. Well done. But before he could sit down Colin was called again, for the best car interior!! How about that!!!

On Saturday night we all trooped off to the river where a floating light festival was being staged. There were a huge number of boats, mainly rowing boats decked with lanterns and lights of all shapes and sizes making their way up and down the river. It was an amazing sight but unfortunately didn't come out very well in the photos so you will have to take my word for it.

Sunday saw some of us walk into Henley on Thames where we enjoyed a cooling ice cream and later coffee. Others drove into Marlow to see if the French market was there as it had been last year but regrettably it wasn't. However all good things have to come to an end and after the prize giving it was time to pack away the tents and head for home. It was agreed that the weekend had been another success if not a little HOT and we will definitely return next year, how about joining us?

The organisers always put a lot of effort into this event and have all sorts of competitions going on over the weekend, including driving skills, treasure hunt, raffles etc.

The site is at The Swiss Farm International Camping ground at Henley and has plenty of facilities for families including a swimming pool, bar and cafeteria. All members and friends are welcome; details of next year's event will be posted at Stoneleigh next year.
